Utilitarian Mud is an artist-led project founded by Rory Rosenberg and Russell Barsanti for making, presenting, and selling design objects and projects by artists. It is a place to follow ideas wherever they lead, whether that means making an object by hand, helping produce someone else's idea, participating in a fair, or building a presentation around a group of objects. The mood is open, sun-worn, a little strange, and grounded in a real love of color, material, and making.

The things we make are meant to be lived with and lived around. They are well considered, made by hand, open to quirks, and allowed to carry the marks of how they were made. Materials can be old or new, refined or ordinary, but the goal is the same: to make objects that feel specific, cared for, and worth keeping, things with a little weather in them, a little looseness, and enough personality to become part of a life.
